Length of CoverageHFT warrants to a first retail purchaser and each subsequentpurchaser that the engine is free from defects in materials andworkmanship that cause the failure of warranted parts for aperiod of two (2) years after the date of delivery to the first retailpurchaser.2. No Charge Repair or ReplacementRepair or replacement of any warranted part will be performed atno charge to the owner if the work is performed through a warrantystation authorized by HFT. For emissions warranty service, contactthe HFT Customer Service Department at 1-800-520-0882.3. Consequential Damages CoverageCoverage under this warranty shall also extend to the failure of anyengine components caused by the failure of any warranted partwhile it is still covered under this warranty.4. Coverage ExclusionsWarranty claims shall be filed in accordance with the provisionsof the HFT warranty policy explained in the box at the top of theprevious page. HFT shall not be liable for any loss of use of theengine, for any alternative usage, for any damage to goods, loss oftime, or inconvenience. Warranty coverage shall also be excludedfor any part which fails, malfunctions, or is damaged due to failureto follow the maintenance and operating instructions set forth in theOwner’s Manual including, but not limited to:a) Use of parts which are not authorized by HFTb) Improper installation, adjustment or repair of the engine or ofany warranted part unless performed by an authorized warrantycenterc) Failure to follow recommendations on fuel use contained in theOwner’s Manuald) Improper or inadequate maintenance of any warranted partse) Repairs performed outside of the authorized warrantyservice dealersf) Alterations by changing, adding to or removing parts fromthe engine.5. Service and MaintenanceComponent parts which are not scheduled for replacement asrequired maintenance or are scheduled only for regular inspectionto the effect of “repair or replace as necessary” are warranted forthe warranty period. Any warranted part which is scheduled forreplacement as required maintenance is warranted for the periodof time up to the first scheduled replacement point for that part.Any replacement part, provided it is equivalent in durability andperformance, may be used in performance of maintenance orrepairs. The owner is responsible for commissioning a qualifiedtechnician/mechanic to perform all required maintenance, asoutlined in the Inspection, Cleaning, and Maintenance section inthis manual.6. Warranted Parts1) Fuel Metering Systemi) Carburetor and its internal parts.ii) Air/fuel ratio feedback and control system.iii) Cold start enrichment system.iv) Fuel Tank.2) Air Induction Systemi) Controlled hot air intake system.ii) Intake manifold.iii) Air filter.3) Ignition Systemi) Spark Plugs.ii) Magneto or electronic ignition system.iii) Spark advance/retard system.4) Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System (if so equipped)i) EGR valve body, and carburetor spacer.ii) EGR rate feedback and control system.5) Air Injection Systemi) Air pump or pulse valve.ii) Valves affecting distribution of flow.iii) Distribution manifold.6) Catalyst or Thermal Reactor System (if so equipped)i) Catalytic converter.ii) Thermal reactor.iii) Exhaust manifold.7) Particulate ControlsTraps, filters, precipitators, and any other device used to captureparticulate emissions. |
