25DVD OPERATIONselect a menu option directly. ManyDVDs will not allow this duringstart-up.Pause playback1. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button topause playback (still mode). Thesound will be muted during stillmode.2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button toresume normal playback.Stop playback1. Press the STOP button to go tostop mode, the TV screen will showthe start logo. With some discs,such as DVD or CDs, the playercan resume playback from the pointwhere it was stopped.2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button toresume playback from the locationwhere the playback was stopped.3. Press the STOP button twice tostop completely.Previous and NextDuring playback, pressing the PREVbutton will restart the last chapter andskip chapters backwards with eachsubsequent press until the start of thedisc is reached.Basic PlaybackPreparations• Press the DVD button on theremote control to select the DVDinput source.NOTE: Do not insert a disc untilthe DVD input states open.Basic playback1. Place the DVD in the disc slot. Thedisc will be loaded automaticallyafter one or two seconds then theDVD player reads the DVD anddisplays the opening menu.
