No, you should not install the Haier HL32D2 near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus that produce heat. This includes amplifiers and other heating devices.
If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for the replacement of the obsolete outlet. Do not attempt to modify the plug yourself as it may defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding type plug.
