To clean the TV set safely, first pull out the power plug from the AC outlet. Use a dry, soft cotton cloth to clean the cabinet and the screen. Avoid using benzene, petrol, or other chemicals, as they can damage the TV set.

If the TV set is not going to be used for a long time or during a severe thunder and lightning storm, it is recommended that you disconnect the TV set from the AC power outlet and remove the aerial plug.

To connect an antenna to the TV set, you can use either a coaxial cable (75Ω) or a twin-lead cable (300Ω). For a coaxial cable, insert the antenna plug into the 75Ω socket on the TV. For a twin-lead cable, shape the cable as shown in Figure D, connect the leads to an antenna adapter, and then insert the adapter into the 75Ω socket.

To replace the batteries in the remote control unit, place the unit face down and open the battery cover. Insert two 'AA' size batteries, ensuring the + and - signs on the batteries match the signs in the battery compartment. Close the cover securely. Note that you should not drop, wet, or dismantle the unit, and avoid using rechargeable (Ni-cd) batteries or mixing battery types.

To adjust the treble level, press the CH+/- button to select TREBLE, then press the VOL+/- button to adjust the treble level.

To change the language settings, press the CH+/- button to select LANGUAGE, then press the VOL+/- button to select the desired language.

To perform an auto search for channels, press the MENU button to display the main menu, then press the CH+/- button to select TUNE. Next, press the VOL+/- button or the TUNE button on the remote control to enter the TUNE menu. Select AUTO SEARCH and press the VOL+/ button to start searching automatically.

You can change channels using the CH+/- buttons on the remote controller or the front panel of the TV set. Alternatively, you can directly enter the channel number using the numeric buttons on the remote controller. For channel numbers from 10 to 99, press the [-/--] button twice and enter the two-digit channel number. For channel numbers from 100 to 217, press the [-/--] button thrice and enter the three-digit channel number.

To adjust the volume, press the VOL+/- buttons on the remote control or the front of the TV set. The volume level ranges from 0 to 60, and the current volume level will be displayed automatically on the TV screen when the volume buttons are pressed.

To turn the Teletext feature on or off, press the TV/Teletext button on the remote control.
