To clean the TV set safely, first pull out the power plug from the AC outlet. Use a dry soft cotton cloth to clean the picture tube. Do not use any cleaner or abrasive cloth. Avoid using benzene, petrol, and other chemicals to clean the cabinet and the screen.
If the TV set is not going to be used for a long time, or there is a severe thunder and lightning storm, it is recommended that the TV set be disconnected from the AC power outlet and the aerial plug removed.
To connect an antenna to the Haier 29FV6 TV set, you can use either a coaxial cable (75Ω) or a twin-lead cable (300Ω). For a coaxial cable, insert the antenna plug into the 75Ω socket. For a twin-lead cable, shape the cable as shown in figure D, connect the leads to an antenna adapter, and then insert the adapter into the 75Ω socket.
To skip or hide programs, press the CH+/- buttons to select the SKIP menu, then use the VOL+/- buttons to turn the skip feature on or off. Press the EXIT button to save the setting.
To program the TV to turn on at a specific time, press the CH+/- buttons to select ON TIME, then press the VOL+/- buttons to adjust the hour. Press the CH- button to select minutes and the VOL+/- buttons to adjust the minutes. Press the CH- button to select ON PROG and the VOL+/buttons to select the TV channel that the TV set will automatically turn on to.
You can change the channel using the CH+/- buttons on the remote controller or the front panel of the TV set. Alternatively, you can directly enter the channel number using the numeric buttons on the remote controller. To select the number of digits for the channel, press the [-/--] button repeatedly until the on-screen indication shows the correct number of digits (one, two, or three), then enter the desired channel number.
If your TV has no sound or no picture, ensure that the power supply is connected to the TV set and turned on. Also, check that the TV set is not in 'Listen Mode' or that the brightness and contrast are not turned down. If the issue persists, refer to the troubleshooting guide for specific connections and adjustments.
