Always keep combustible wall coverings,curtains or drapes a safe distance fromyour range. Do not clean the range with flammable orvolatile cleaning fluids. After prolonged use of a range, high floortemperatures may result and many floorcoverings will not withstand this kind ofuse. Never install the range over vinyl tileor linoleum that cannot withstand suchtype of use. Never install it directly overinterior kitchen carpeting. Avoid scratching the glass cooktop withsharp instruments, or with rings and otherjewelry. Do not allow anyone to climb, stand orhang on the oven door, storage drawer orcooktop. They could damage the rangeand even tip it over, causing severepersonal injury.CAUTION: Items of interest to childrenshould not be stored in cabinets above a range oron the backsplash of a range—children climbingon the range to reach items could be seriouslyinjured. For your safety, never use your appliancefor warming or heating the room. Large scratches or impacts to glass doorscan lead to broken or shattered glass. Do not clean the range when the applianceis in use. Never wear loose-fitting or hanginggarments while using the appliance.Be careful when reaching for items storedin cabinets over the range. Smother a flaming pan on a surfaceburner by covering the pan completelywith a well-fitting lid, cookie sheet or flattray. Use a multi-purpose dry chemical orfoam-type fire extinguisher. Flaming grease outside a pan can be putout by covering it with baking soda or,if available, by using a multi-purpose drychemical or foam-type fire extinguisher. Flame in the oven can be smotheredcompletely by closing the oven door andturning the control to off or by using amulti-purpose dry chemical or foam-typefire extinguisher. Let the burner grates and other surfacescool before touching them or leavingthem where children can reach them. Never block the vents (air openings) ofthe range. They provide the air inlet andoutlet that are necessary for the range tooperate properly with correct combustion.Air openings are located at the rear of thecooktop, at the top and bottom of theoven door, and at the bottom of the rangeunder the storage drawer or kick panel.
