iPF6400S Basic Guide60Consumables and Maintenance Cleaning the Printer3 If the Up-down Unit is lowered, open theSpectrophotometer Unit Cover and lift up thecentral part (near the blue label) of the Up-downUnit.Important• Lifting up the ends of the Up-down Unit may cause damage.4 Wipe the surface of the Spectrophotometer EjectGuide and the surface of the White/BlackBacking Plate clean with a dry, soft cloth.If it is particularly dirty, use a damp cloth that youhave wrung out completely to wipe clean anduse a dry cloth to dry the surface.Warning• Never use flammable solvents such as alcohol, benzene, or thinner. If thesesubstances come into contact with electrical components inside the printer, there is arisk of fire or electrical shock.Important• When handling the White/Black BackingPlate, do not touch the white backingplate (a) or black backing plate (b) directlywith your hands.If the surface becomes dirty or scratched,the printer may not be able to obtain thecorrect color measurement results.• Make sure that no dirt remains in thegrooves on both ends of theSpectrophotometer Eject Guide.If any dirt remains, the printer may not beable to obtain the correct colormeasurement results.Cleaning the Paper presserDirt on the surface of the Paper presser may be transferred onto the paper or the White/BlackBacking Plate.1 Turn the printer off.(See "Turning the Printer On and Off.")➔User's Guide2 Unplug the power cord from the outlet.Caution• Always turn off the printer and unplug the power cord before cleaning or maintenance.Accidentally leaving the printer on poses a risk of injury if you touch moving parts insidethe printer.
