Conventional calls can be placed by simply dialing a standardtelephone number. Such a call will occupy a single ISDN B channel for its duration,and will incur the same kind of charges as any other regular phone call. You may alsouse facsimile devices in this manner.Figure 1-4 Placing Conventional Telephone Calls over ISDNMaking AcerVoIp Calls Over the InternetWhen equipped with the optional AcerVoIp hardware installed, the AcerRouter 700 isalso capable of establishing free long distance voice calls to other similarly equippedAcerRouter 700 telephones through the Internet. This type of call is termed aAcerVoIp call, which is triggered when the user dials a number that had beenconfigured in the AcerRouter 700 as a AcerVoIp number.
